August 11th Apex18 Enduro Race
July 3rd Apex18 Autocross Update
It was nice to see every one came with their own cheer leaders . It was close to a very dry 100 degrees when we started laying out the track but before every one arrived it eventually turned out to be very pleasantly warm and sunny race day.
We had run 2 classes 3 qualifiers and 10 minute mains. Drivers that showed up are Brian, Bing, Charles, Noel and Patrick we are expecting two more drivers but wasn’t able to make it.
Starting with the first heat, Bing and Charles where fighting for the first, resulting in the first fastest lap of the day by Bing at blistering 6.95 seconds followed by Charles at 7.10 and Patrick at 7.22. Bing was dictating the phase all through the 5 minutes 1st qualifier. Finishing the heat with Bing at 1st , Charles 2nd and Patrick at 3rd .
The second Heat was a Mexican stand off between Brian and Noel. Brian new at closed track racing, and Noel an old retired racer trying to glorifiy his come back.
This heat was for the cheering fans, everyone was in the game cheering on. (GO BRIAN!!!!!, GO NOEL!!!!!) It was very close in the first half of the 5 min qualifier. Noel finish the race first followed by Brian. Fastest lap by noel at 11.12 sec followed by Brian at 14.35.
The third heat, was On!!!! Between Bing and Charles. Charles started strong leading the pack by a quarter track length giving him a chance to break Bing’s Fastest lap from the first heat, Charles clocked in a 5.98 WOW!!!!. Bing was stuck in traffic, with his consistent driving passing the slow voluptuous Patrick, Bing was able to narrow down the gap between him and Charles. Charles and Bing had exchanged leads a couple of times before the end of the heat. Finishing first was Bing with 6.93 fastest lap followed by Charles at 7.00sec. and Patrick with 7.15 sec. all finished in the same lap.
The forth Heat, brought the tiger out of Brian and Noel, both displayed focus and Improved driving skills, Brian hang close to Noel both were on the same lap almost the entire heat. After Brian showed drifting skills and spinned out, Noel pulled away and finishing one lap ahead of Brian. Good Job Brian cutting Noel's lead down from two to one lap lead, keep it up.
The mains were different, Noel and Brian were in the zone with precision driving they were able to finish a 10min main both were in the same lap, it is 10:30PM every one was tiered Brian, lunched his car in the air and did some cart wheels, giving Noel a chance to pull away, Brian recovered from the crash after Noel lapped Brian with an Incredible 3 laps lead, Brain after the crash was able to managed to cut down the lead of Noel to 2 Laps. Finishing Noel First and Brian Second good Job!!!. The Second Group of guys were at war Charles was flying fast trying to revenge his defeats from Bing he Lapped Patrick twice and Bing once, boy he was “Edison” fast, too fast he drained his battery in the middle of the 10min main, his battery was dumping. Charles pulled his car out into the pits leaving Bing and Patrick alone in the track Bing was a heart beat behind Patrick, first poition was changed a couple of times but fatigue sets in, both drivers hitting the boards multiple times. Charles with his freshly charged monster Subaru, tried to catch up, but he run out of time, finishing first was Patrick and Just a millisecond behind was Bing, Charles finished third.
